This is unusual
in that the meter seems different from those in the typical hymn books, but it seems to work.
It is either 65 44 5 or 65 85 - neither is present in the books that I have.
I set out to
write a "soft" carol to add to the many quiet
carols that we all know and love. This is nothing special but
the melody and harmonies are pleasant while being
straightforward - and this is best sung unaccompanied. It was
first performed at Staple in East Kent in 1997. Both words
and music are my copyright. Only very minor changes to the
words have been made since the first performance.

These
words are still subject to variation - you may be able to
help!
